A domain is an address identified within a group of servers connected to the Internet where each domain has a unique IP and DNS and is important to know that Google is partnered with Google Domains and domain companies like GoDaddy.com, eNom.com, and DomainDiscount24.com to offer domain registration to customers, and when you purchase a domain through Google during sign-up, you get an account—outside of Google—with one of those partners.

Every domain has a life cycle starting with its initial registration and ending with it being returned to the public for new registration. Instead a conventional domain when you purchase your domain while signing up for your Google service from Google Workspace or Blogger these domains has a life cycle different than others because you just have only one month till to renewal it.


The Life Cycle of a Domain Name



  • Domain Available: Domain can be registered.
  • Domain Registered: Once domain is successfully registered, you may be able to register the domain for up to one year.
  • Domain Expired: Once the domain is expired, it will be released immediately and available to register again because "Renewal grace period" and "pending deletion" are not available.
  • Domain Released: Domain is public for registration again.

NOTE: "Renewal grace period" and "pending deletion" are part of a conventional domain life cycle giving 30 days extra per period to renewal the domain.

How billing works for a domain registration


If you purchased your domain while signing up for your Google service, you're charged for the full one-year domain registration amount right away. If you set up autorenew in the Admin console, you’re automatically charged again when it’s time to renew your domain, instead you will have to do it manually in the next 14 days otherwise the domain will be released.
